# DOC1 fixed manuscript and single document format

This is an original fictional exhibition essay. The manuscript is complete before document formatting begins. Preserve every word, punctuation mark, paragraph, heading level, table cell and block order in manuscript.en.md. Do not add a summary, rewrite passages, choose a new outline or invent citations.

## Native document requirements

- One editable DOCX on A4 portrait pages with 20 mm margins.
- The manuscript's single level 1 Markdown title becomes Word Title. Level 2 headings become native Heading 1; level 3 headings become native Heading 2. Title and heading text/order stay exact. Body paragraphs stay separate native paragraphs.
- Arial 11 pt body, 1.15 line spacing, 7 pt after paragraphs. Black title at 21 pt, Heading 1 at 15 pt, Heading 2 at 12 pt. All title, heading and header text black, with no horizontal rule or decorative border.
- Front matter consists of the exact manuscript title and a generated Contents label with a native automatic TOC for Heading 1 and Heading 2, with page numbers. Main text starts on the next page. Do not type the entries or their page numbers manually.
- A header on each page reads Small Journeys Exhibition. A footer has Page followed by a native PAGE field. These generated elements are not manuscript paragraphs.
- Keep the manuscript table in its exact position and row/cell order, as one editable native table. Use four deliberate column widths within the text area: 16 mm, 29 mm, 29 mm and 96 mm. Repeat its header on each page it spans. Use visible light-grey borders, dark-grey header with white text, alternating white and pale-grey body rows, generous cell padding and no fixed row heights. Keep individual rows intact where possible. Leave 7 pt of space before the paragraph following the table.
- Do not flatten pages or the table into images. Keep heading paragraphs with their next content and enable widow/orphan control; do not force large blank areas to obtain a particular page count.

## What may be generated and compared separately

Only the Contents label, automatic TOC entries/page numbers, page header, page-number footer, page breaks and layout whitespace are generated additions. Repeated table header rows in rendered pages do not count as new manuscript rows. Body comparison uses original block order, trims paragraph-end whitespace only and joins runs without changing characters. Markdown markers and table separator syntax are input structure, not body words.

## Required actual observations

Check native paragraph styles, table structure and field definitions, then compare the complete body and table with the fixed input. Render every page and inspect it for clipping, missing material, table continuation, readable headings and headers/footers. A PDF or image preview does not establish Microsoft Word behavior.

In an existing usable editor, actually update the TOC and observe its populated entries. Temporarily change the Heading 2 text The empty bottle to The empty bottle temporary check, update and observe that entry change, then restore the exact original heading, update, save, close and reopen. Confirm the restored heading, table of contents and full body survive. Record editor name/version or unknown and the actual operations; a TOC field alone is not a pass.

If this update workflow cannot be performed with existing authorized tools, retain the exact unresolved step and deliver completed local materials as partial. Do not substitute a typed or materialized static TOC, ask for a purchase/login, retry unrelated accounts or claim full acceptance.
